We had a really good time and the property we stayed in was excellent. The facilities were very good and a very nice relaxed atmosphere. Staying in the castle was a great experience however the sound proofing is not that great, however this is to be expected in such an old building - there are notices to keep volumes down between certain times 11pm - 8am.
Our biggest mistake was not preparing for Mosquitos...I would suggest that everyone going here buys a zapper before they go and plug in well before going to sleep...we made the silly mistake of letting a few in after our first night out and we suffered because of this for a few days.
Great weather, lots to do, many places to see - Siena is the best though in my opinion and only 45 mins away in a car.
One last thing, if you are going to rent a car, I would swerve trying to get a cheap deal and stick to a known company such as Europcar as you will incur many hidden charges and potentially not the car you ordered - a few people we met had the same issue.
With regards to the Villas / castle - highly recommended and great value for money...oh if you do go, when you come out of the resort, drive through Barccaiano, turn right and head along that road for about 3 minutes and you will find a lovely little restaurant on the right hand side - fantastic food and service!

The villa is beautiful and peaceful, people are friendly, room is comfortable and clean. We spent lot of time at the pool, it's a relaxing and beautiful place to hang out. We will stay longer next time!

The castle if definitely worth a visit. Great base for visiting toscany. Hotel comfort, but private and historik feeling. Do not expect 24h hotel reception, the castle rents out apartments.

This is a beautiful property and an ideal place to relax and unwind. Both Lisa Jane and Andrea were very friendly and were a mine of information on the local area and always ready to suggest places to see and do. I would recommend this property highly.

Tuscany was beautiful and the villa was outstanding. The accommodation could not have been better.

Very well equipped villa. Quiet location for privacy but convenient for day trips. We visited Rome (long day!), Florence, Sienna on one day trips. Lots of room for our party of 10 people. Villa and grounds were well-cared for and the owner was very helpful. All in all, great experience and we would stay again. The only suggestion we have is better directions. The villa is very tough to find with a small sign. A GPS address or co-ordinate would be very helpful. Thankfully the owner was able to meet us to guide owner.

We had a wonderful Tuscan family holiday at villa elisa. we felt like we were really immeted in tuscan life with 3 generations of our family dining on long tables in the beautiful gardens each evening. The view from the pool of historic Cortona is magnificent. The local food and wine is delicious and the Italians warm and welcoming.

This property could not have been any better. The villa, the amenities and the property owner were all wonderful. We had 4 families staying at this property. Eight children total and with all the outdoor amenities we were never indoors. With the tables on the covered patio and outside, we only slept in the villa. And the sleeping arrangements were very accomodating. We were greeted with food and a thorough walk through of the property. Every detail was handled professionally. Only areas to think about are, 1. The upstairs bedrooms in the middle of the summer are warm. Sleeping with windows open is good, but bugs find their way in. 2. If you plan to do many side trips to the larger Tuscan towns, be prepared to drive. If you like the quiet, the town of Civitella is magnificent. And they have the best gelato we found anywhere. Excellent location and property. A little bit hard to go in contact with the owner, but the bottom line is - a wonderful spot!!!
